Get well SOON Ben mate!
Monday, 08 March 2010 23:02
As those who were at Brands will know, Ben Ransley was taken away in a bit of a state by all accounts that I've heard.
I don't usually post about injuries on the front of the site, but I've had a lot of people asking and Ann from the team has kindly sent us an update.
Ben has broken his pelvis in 2 places (Brands is one with Sam, we don't know where he started but we've heard he gets about a bit), and that he had a dislocated shoulder put back into place trackside. Update from Ann today, click read more.

Update on Ben. He was operated on for 2 ½ hours today. The main concern is the open wound rather then the pelvic fractures, due to the infection risks. Ben is understandably very drowsy after surgery but is making steady progress. For information he is in the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel who are providing him with specialist care and someone is hoping to take him a laptop tomorrow so he can keep in touch with people.

When I spoke with Ben’s dad earlier they did want to acknowledge the exceptional care that Ben received trackside – the hospital have also commended the work of the track paramedics whose actions prevented a far more serious prognosis. Further updates are expected at the end of the week.
